the final countdown

sunday I was able to finish sewing madyn's bedding.
im glad that I have that all finished up!
geeze it has taken me long enough!
only 9 months!

we also had mark, brandy and Easton over for dinner
and they stayed and watched some football.
those two are pretty silly together.
Monday I got TONS of errands ran and things done around
the house.
I got tons of things done and I actually felt pretty productive.
Tuesday night we had mark brandy and Easton over
for pizza and to paint/ carve pumpkins.

that night we woke up to mark and brandy calling to say
that they were headed into the hospital.
so I went over about 3:30 to stay with East
then back to our house at 6:30 so Eric could take off.
between all that and the stress of surgery... a lot of sleep did not take place.
we had a busy Wednesday getting packed, running errands,
and getting last minute things done before we took off for the valley.
the kiddos played while I tried to get everything done.
poor east couldn't even make it through lunch...

after such a crazy day around 3ish i think...
baby Graysen made his grand entrance.
we took Easton over so he could meet his little brother first.
I think he kinda liked him!

before we look off for the valley we took madyn over to meet him.
she really liked him.
she was so excited to see all his little features like his eyes and nose
and fingers and toes.

right after we took straight off to the valley.
we got in pretty late but madyn was so happy to be at mi mi and pop pops.
Thursday we got up bright and early and headed to salt lake.

checked in about 8:30, headed straight back, did some prep and then off to surgery.
they were only anticipating taking out 5cm but ended up taking 6-8 inches.
the poor nurse in the recovery room....
looking back it was like a weird out of body experience....
like everything was blurry and like really muted I don't really remember
hearing anything... but I do remember just talking talking talking...
in all honesty I have no idea what I was saying although I do remember
telling her that green was my favorite color and to tell my mom and dad
that I missed my little girl madyn.
im sure I talked her ear off because the one thing that I vividly remember
was thinking KYLIE SHUT THE HELL UP!
when I got up to the room I was staying in mom, dad, micah, cindy and eric
were there waiting for me... I must have still been a little out of it
because micah kept laughing at me.
for the most part I really felt good, except for my neck and shoulders.
they just ached soooo bad!
carilyn and tony came and brought madyn to visit.

that was a saving grace for me!
I missed her soooo much but I knew she was having
a blast with trey and boston.
and was being spoiled rotten by grandma and grandpa...

my night nurses were amazing.
my main nurse was named Thelma, she was from the Philippians, she
was amazing and I instantly fell in love with her.
my aid nurse was named Carlos, he was from Peru. he had such a strong
testimony of the church and he didn't hesitate sharing that with me.
he bore his testimony of our Father in Heaven and that he is the ultimate
healer and he knows, loves, and is watching over me.
he also bore testimony of the power of prayer and faith.
he told me at midnight he goes and prays, and that he would pray
for me and that all I needed was faith.
it was safe to say I immediately fell in love with him also!
I seriously had the BEST care at the Huntsman!
Friday I was miserable.
I really hurt. but they good news was that I had
been upgraded to soft foods so I was able to eat a waffle.
and it hurt. I swear I could feel it moving throughout my stomach.
madyn, tony and carilyn came and visited on their way
back to the valley.
and the meeks family also visited that evening.
Saturday they came in first thing and said we can tell you are in pain
because your heart rate has really increased.
so they fixed the dosing on my medications and I started feeling so
much better! the only problem was still my neck, collar bone and shoulders...
oh man! I swear that was the worst pain EVER!
I was finally able to get up and shower and
since I was feeling better me and mom went and sat outside for a bit.
that lifted my spirits sooo much!
dad, eric, mike and cindy had gone out to eat at chile's and brought
us back chocolate shakes and chocolate molten cake.
it was delicious!
they took off to go to the Utah game and me and mom watched
from our room.

I was soooo thrilled that eric was able to go and
do something fun!
he was seriously beyond amazing to me!
I don't think I could have done it without him!
and carilyn and tony skyping madyn for me... I missed her soooo much!
