camping trip #1- 2016 in the books!

monday morning eric got off work and went straight to bed.

he had to go back to work on thursday so we had a few days to kill

and have some fun.

so we got some things done around the house until he woke up 

then we packed up and headed to the mountains.

we got there pretty late in the evening and immediately started setting up camp.

we had tin foil dinners for supper and roasted some marshmallows.

madyn was sooooo excited for the tent!

she didnt want to leave it.

we slept so nice and warm that night....

but not too comfortable. 

i was laying on something hard and it took me forever before i was

able to really get to sleep good.

when we got up eric and madyn went straight fishing while i picked

up a bit around camp and straightened our tent back up.

i loved walking up on them.

he's seriously the best to her.

eric had told me that when we got up there was a bald eagle just

outside of our camp...

not too long later it was by us when we were fishing.

i was soooo mad because when it started flying i didnt have it

in the right mode and it wouldnt focus quick enough to get some better pictures.

madyn was sooo happy to be fishing.

which was pretty suprising since we knew it wasnt something that she loves.

but she played and was just as happy as can be with her pole.

seriously isnt she such a ham... i couldnt get rid of any of those pictures!

she makes my heart happy!

that is for sure!!!

after awhile of just sitting there i convinced eric to let me fish

for a little bit.

i always forget how much i actually enjoy fishing.

he got very inpatient with how long i was taking...

 and i had yet to catch anything!

so i said 5 more casts....

on the third i finally caught one!

i was kinda excited because it was way bigger then the little ones eric 

had been catching earlier.

he took back the pole and caught a few more.

about noonish we headed back to camp figuring that 

mark, brandy and the boys would get there soon.

when they did we ate lunch. mark worked on his bow and madyn's fishing pole.

easton and madyn played around camp and acted like they were fishing.

they are the silliest together!

and then we took off to do some more fishing. 

i unfortunately had a terrible time!

i seriously lost 5 of eric's lures.

good thing he is patient with me.

we roasted hot dogs for dinner and did some more fishing....
all the way up till dark.
that night was super cold!
but i actually slept like a rock.
the next day we got up and mark had made a delicious
mountain man breakfast.
we quickly packed up and then
we took off to do just a little bit more fishing before we had to head home.

i had the hardest time catching anything again... until i started my countdown.

then i finally caught one...

seriously i dont know what is up with that.

we took off about noon to head home.

madyn was quickly out.

i was so proud of how she did camping!
my little miss priss did awesome.
she handled fishing like a champ- all considering.
she was pretty well behave, ate decent, and didn't freak out about getting dirty.
we got home just in time for me to hop in the shower, put on fresh clothes and
head to my appointment.
that afternoon we unloaded, relaxed and enjoyed being home.
madyn had dance class that evening- which she continues to LOVE!
eric came and watched her- she loves to show off.
it started storming pretty hard and when we got home our power was out :/
i had to run to young womens- luckily the power was on at the church.
when i got home the power was still out...
so we decided we were just going to get to bed- we were pretty tired
from our fun filled last couple of days.
as soon as we got in bed- the power came back on... go figure.
friday night we went out and tried double dubs for the first time...
and i have to say it was DELICIOUS!
we had such a great week.
having eric be home more often is just an absolute blessing!
we love being able to spend so much time with him!
