well sunday we went to church at mom's ward.
after we went to and spent a lot of our day with the gillieses.
it was nice visiting with the Dixon family.
that night the hysell family dropped by and left mads a little surprise
for our big trip!
she LOVED it!
Monday we took off on our little get away.
madyn travelled pretty good.
she would get kinda cranky every once in awhile so I would tell her
to look at the cows and horses.
finally she piped up- Where da moose?
it was cute.
we stopped at the Red Baron for lunch then headed to the ol burg.
I really enjoyed my ride down and looking for all my old
travel markers. it brought back lots of memories.
we made a quick stop at the Walmart to get madyn some tennis shoes and
a coat... West Yellowstone was rainy and the low was supposed to be 30 degrees.
needless to say when we where packing a week ago we didn't
think to bring our winter gear.
once we got into West Yellowstone it was FREEZING!
and pouring rain!
megan and scott made a delicious dinner- chilie and scones.
then I did a little shopping in town trying to find madyn a thick sweater.
Walmart didn't have any coats, sweaters or jackets at the end of July- go figure huh.
that night we went to the Playmill Theatre to see Mary Poppins.
Madyn LOVED the first half. she hummed along to the songs
and clapped at the end of scenes.
then came intermission...
looking back I should have bought her a popcorn to keep her occupied.
she started to fuss and really get cranky.
so we went out in the lobby but she just couldn't get settle and comfortable.
I felt so awful, I hoped no one could hear her in the theatre but she was really starting to throw a
massive fit! so we went outside... and she was starting to really go at it.
and there was nothing I could do.
so we walked back to the meeks' camper...
that was one of the longest blocks I have ever walked!
she was SCREAMING and throwing herself everwhere...
I don't think she has ever thrown such a terrible fit like that one.
luckily I had the keys to the car so we were able to sit in there till the play was over.
after about 30 minutes of her freaking out in the car she finally fell asleep.
Tuesday we packed up and headed back rire way.
I took Austyn and Payson in my vehicle and we took off towards Rexburg.
while we waited for megan and scott to get into town we
drove down grandma and grandpa's old lane to see their old house.
the new owners are remodeling it... it was kinda heartbreaking to see, even though
I think it will look really nice when it is finished.
then we went and got cupcakes from the cocoa bean and drove by BYUI.
lastly I drove the kiddos up to the temple.
I couldn't help but remember all those early Wednesday mornings I spent up there
and how much my life has changed since then.
once megan, scott and laityn were in town we went to eat at mill hollow.
it was of course delicious!
then we headed over to hiese to set up camp again.
we had a good little afternoon.
I however had a massive headache but madyn wouldn't
settle down enough for me to get a nap.
so we went up and explored a little.
that night we ate at the pizza parlor and visited with mom and Jackie.
we also went over to their cabin. it was sooo nice.
it was really little but the floors, cabinets and appliances were really nice.
the kiddos ran outside and got out some energy.
the night was perfect and the sky was gorgeous.
we were so happy to be back in normal temperatures.
Wednesday we went into Rexburg to see the gardens at BYUI!
we walked around for awhile and I went over to the bookstore.
I think the kiddos really enjoyed walking around the gardens.
I never really enjoyed them when I lived in Rexburg because when
school is in session every couple goes there and its pretty annoying lol.
especially if you are a lonely girl waiting for a missionary:)
after the gardens we went out to eat and headed back to hiese.
once we got back to heise, I got pretty anxious to head back home.
we were leaving in the morning anyways and madyn was getting soooo homesick.
she would grab my hand and say "go home!!" "DADDY!"
it kinda broke my heart!
so we left for lyman that night.
we were pretty happy to be back in the old 307.
the next morning we spent cleaning out the car, packing and doing
a few errands for BVM.
once mom got back into town she took
me out to lunch at crazy 8.
before we knew it, it was time to head back to Laramie.
it was time to say good bye to our vacations of the month
and get back to reality.
it was a long car ride but once we
were home we were soooo happy!
especially madyn.
as soon as she saw eric, she just started giggling hysterically.
it made my heart really happy.
Friday we spent the day deep cleaning the house
and getting everything back in order from being gone.
it felt sooo good having the house all nice and clean.
Saturday I spent all day cleaning outside.
I was able to wash all the windows and really clean up the yard and house.
we have a big inspection from Cheyenne Housing on Tuesday so I really want to
get everything looking wonderful!
eric and mark decided they wanted to go shoot their bows up at
Curt Gowdy.
so I babysat Easton while they went out.
madyn and him just had a blast together.
they are the cutest little friends... and the biggest troublemakers!
