potty training...

sunday.... day 2 of potty training.

she actually didn't do too bad but we weren't home

so much so she did wear a diaper most of the day...

because who are we kidding...

we weren't taking her out in panties on day 2.

we went for a nice stroll around our neighborhood.

then that afternoon tony and carilyn were passing through on their way

to Cheyenne for tony's meetings.

we went to lovejoys for lunch, then to the park

for the kids to play, and then back to the house and visit for a bit.

Monday was a crazy day...

I tell you what this potty training stuff is exhausting!

but madyn is doing AWESOME!

we also got back to babysitting our sweet little colter!

madyn LOVES him!

she may be a stinker sometimes but seriously

can be sooo sweet and cute.

love this girl!

Tuesday and Wednesday madyn did AWESOME!
she had no wet accidents.... (still has yet to figure the poo out)
but for two whole days and no problems I was thrilled!
even napping without a diaper!
(also did you see that word? napping! I thought she was finished with her
afternoon naps! so glad shes doing them again!)
Wednesday tony and carilyn came and saw us before they took
off back to the valley.
madyn was soooo excited to see them.
she even did a HILARIOUS dance and sung to let it go.
she was soooo seriously about it.
it was pretty much one of the cutest things I have ever seen.
that night I had young womans to go to and there was a cowboys
basketball game so eric and madyn went to that.
I was shocked to hear that eric decided to take madyn- underwear and all!
even I'm not brave enough to go out in public without a diaper!
but she did great!
Thursday we were sooo excited because madyn woke up dry!
although the rest of the morning she seemed to regress a little.

but by the end of the day we were in full swing again....
she even pooped in the potty!
we were soooo excited!
that was her first. she really struggles with the poo part...
too much information?!?
but I sure love that little stink.
that night we were snuggling on the couch and she told me
let's take a picture together!
so we did...

Saturday we went and got madyn registered for swim lessons in april
and then took her to the dinosaur museum
with mark, brandy, Easton and Graysen.

it was pretty funny because while we were waiting outside
a couple of students were trying to throw pinecones
in the dinosaurs mouth....
well madyn was NOT happy about that.
she started yelling at them don't throw at the dinosaur!
and then started growling at them.
it was actually pretty funny... and they paid no attention to her
so it wasn't too embarrassing.
that night eric made us some very delicious dutch oven dinner.
and I tried a new recipe for a cake.
we had a pretty good night with our family and letting the
kiddos play.
also we are super excited because eric ROCKED his two tests!
we are pretty proud of him!
and love him lots!

happy valentines day!

sunday was valentines day!

we missed eric A LOT!

but we had a good day otherwise.

we went to sacrament and then rested the rest of the day.

it felt good to get out of the house for a bit,

but by the time we got back I was EXHAUSTED!

we did have a good rest of the day.

I watched the super bowl again and me and mom watched pride and prejudice.
the next couple of days I spent resting.
there is something about a surgery that completely wipes you out.
Wednesday I had my post op appointment.
it hurt like crazy taking the stints out but the cast wasn't that bad.
here's my BEFORE- DURING- AFTER!

after we went to target and met up with micah and the kids
and then went and ate at sizzler.
it was very delicious.
micah and her kids took off and me and dad did some errand running.
I had a good day with him.
he's kinda a cool dad.
Thursday we headed back to Laramie.
we wanted to get back before the storm came in.
we got back just in time to see eric for 10 minutes before he left for clinicals.
a little while later we got a phone call that he was coming home
because they were cancelled.
we were THRILLED!
we had a great day with him, it was soooo good to be home.
madyn was so excited to get her valentine
from great grandma and grandpa gillies!

that night we made madyn a grilled cheese for dinner,
and she insisted eating it with a fork...

Friday the weather was soooo beautiful!
it was seriously the best day!
we took the kiddos to the park and let them run and play a bit.

after the park everyone came over and we all had dinner together.

madyn was pretty excited to be back with her best friend Easton!

madyn's funny story of the day was that she got up on top

of our couch and threw her hands up in the air

and yelled HELLO, GOOD MORNING!

I said Madyn you are sooo silly!

she replied I hope so!

she is my goofy little girl!

Saturday we started the dreaded potty training!

we have been waiting for all the surgeries to be done

and back in the groove of being home.

she was pretty excited for her princess panties!

she did pretty good her first day!

that night eric had some studying to do so

me and mads had our own date night and watched Aladdin 2 and 3.

it was a pretty great week.

and we and super happy to be back home with eric!

under the knife.... again....

sunday was the LONGEST day of my life!

madyn was still sick with a runny nose and cough... so no church for us.

eric had to teach so still went.

I spent my morning recleaning and disinfecting the house of

madyn germs.

all I want was for the game to start!

I swear it was like Christmas day waiting for presents!

so finally at 4 the Super Bowl started... but unfortunately I had to leave

at 5:20 so just in time to get the first quarter done.

we had new beginnings that night for our young women.

it turned out really good and we had a nice turn out.

after new beginnings I rushed home to have eric rewind so I could

watch my broncos!

we FLEW through the commercials, half time show, all the nfl mubo jumbo

and fillers and finally caught up to live tv.

we were able to see the BROCOS WIN SUPER BOWL 50!

it was pretty exciting!

madyn obviously wasn't too thrilled... poor sick girl

slept through the whole thing...

she had the BEST bed head!

Monday we spent the morning packing for our big ol trip to lyman...

do you think we make that trip enough?!?

it was a long drive but it was nice to have good roads even though it

was super windy.

Tuesday was a little bit of a crazy day for us.

I babysat Laityn, Payson, and Maycie.

everyone was really good and we had a pretty decent day

but boy those kiddos sure keep me on my toes!

Wednesday morning me and dad took off for the city so I could get

my nose surgery done.

we left early and so we had some time to kill.

dad knows me well and took me to Target!

then we had a few quick errands to run before we checked in at the hospital.

at 12:30 we got all checked in and settled,

by 1:15 I was all hooked up to ivs and monitors ready to head back

the nurse said the doctor will be in next and shut the door.

well let me tell ya... the wait was long and it just seemed to be getting longer.

finally after 2.5 hours dad peeked out the door and asked it there was a hold up.

he got behind on his first appointment and had yet to catch up....

and then they broke the news that there was still another hour/ hour & fourty five min left.

I seriously about died!

after another 45 minutes a nurse came in to tell

me that the surgery before me just went back.

can you imagine how crazy I was going by now!

by 5 we finally headed back.

 I got out of surgery about 7:45.

the next couple of days I spent sleeping and recovering.

I wasn't in too much pain.

just a lot of pressure and a little uncomfortable....

definitely the easiest surgery yet!

I'm so lucky to have such good help while I recover.

my mom and carilyn are awesome and I know she is in good hands.

meanwhile madyn thinks I look soooo funny and isn't afraid to

let me know how silly I look.

she sure keeps me humble.

well it has been an unexpectedly pleasant week considering everything...

I really do live such a blessed life.

sick girl

our week has been pretty boring...

not a lot going on and a lot of staying in our nice and cozy home.
we got in some naps, lots of snuggles, tea parties
and lots of together time.
my little stink sure cracks me up!

so near the end of the week madyn started getting a fever and runny nose.
by Friday morning she had a nasty cough and you could
tell the poor girl just did not feel good at all.
she kept telling me that she wanted a nap.... so for a girl that doesn't nap
anymore that was sure saying something!
every time she would cough she would say OW!
so that made me worried that she was getting strep.
so we went to the doctor... and she seriously cracked me up the whole time.

after madyn was looked at and given her strep test.
she gave her Minnie a little checkup.
she would say: it's ok Minnie it won't hurt.
open wide! say aahh!
it's ok. you will feel better.
it doesn't hurt.
it was pretty much the cutest thing I have ever seen!
mad's test came back negative and so we just figure it is a virus.
as we were walking out of the office the doctor said get feeling better madyn!
and she replied- I HOPE SO!
once we got back to the car I called papa murphys so we could pick
up dinner before we headed home.
so they asked for my name and I had to repeat it three times
before madyn yelled from the backseat IT'S KYLIE GILLIES!
needless to say it was a pretty funny outing.
the rest of the week we spent snuggling, wiping her nose, and feeding her medicine.
our poor girl has been down pretty hard with this nasty virus.
