Monday we took off to Denver to hit up the zoo.
madyn had sooo much fun!
she was really excited about the animals from Lion Guard.
but she was most excited to see the hippo.
unfortunately the hippo wasn't much to see since he was sleeping.
she really liked the monkeys too.... but didn't like the gorilla or orangutan at all!
my favorites were the otters.
this is the first time we were able to see them awake and swimming.
sorry about the picture quality... the glass was dirty!
mads didn't care for the bird exhibit...
she is too big of a scardy cat and didn't like being
that close to uncaged birds...
after the zoo we went and checked in at our hotel to get all settled in.
the day was still young so we
decided to hit up the aquarium too.
it took her a little bit to get into it but I think she enjoyed herself.
I thought the sharks would really freak her out,
but she did really good.
in fact I think she liked them the most.
after the aquarium we went and ate at Joe's Crab Shack.
it was delicious as always.
it was about time we used our valentines money for a date out!
when we got back to the hotel madyn was super hyper.
what's better then two big beds to jump on for a two year old?
when we asked her what her favorite part of the day was she said the hippo
and the lion guard.
Tuesday we got up and headed over to the children's museum.
it was absolutely FREEZING outside.
madyn loved the museum!
it keeps you busy that is for sure!
she spent the most time at the water tables, bubbles, wooded area and kitchen.
after a long morning at the museum we headed towards
Fort Collins. we ate at the hu hot Mongolian grill
and it tasted soooo good!
we checked into our hotel and eric was soooo good to me
and let me watch pretty little liars.
I really could have waited till we got home but it
was the season finale and I didn't want it spoiled.
after we headed down to the pool and played for a bit.
she was NOT happy when it was time to get out.
luckily it tuckered the girl out and
we got to bed at a decent time.
madyn's favorite part of the day was playing in the kitchen.
Wednesday we got up and going and went to the museum of discovery.
we went to a dome theater and watched a movie....
madyn talked about it to EVERYONE!
after the museum we went out to lunch.
we were STARVING!!!
and then we headed home.
it felt so good to be home and just do nothing.
and be in our own bed...
awww heaven!
Thursday we woke up and hung around the house
and dad called and talked for a bit.
after about 45 minutes of him trying to convince us to go to the
Utah basketball game in Denver for the NCAA tournament
we decided to take the plunge.
we got tickets, packed a bag (just in case of weather) and took off.
we were pretty excited. we got there about 4:00
we went straight to the pepsi center thinking we would figure
parking out, get all settled in our seats,
and get some food before the game started.
well we really weren't thinking because we had to wait for the
first session to get out of the stadium
before we could even get in.... and our game didn't
start till 5:20....
but since we were already there and paid for parking
we really couldn't leave...
and there were no restaurants around besides bars...
but they were super packed because it was st pattys day.
so we waited outside in the snow for 2 hours.....
the game before us went into double overtime so we seriously felt like
it was FOREVER before we got in!
we went straight to the pepsi center thinking we would figure

we also got to watch the Gonzaga/ seton hall game
so that was pretty fun too.
but it was SUPER late by the time we got out and was able to head home.
with the weather and everything we didn't pull into town till 2 am.
it was a long night!
Friday we woke up super late in the day....
we were seriously so exhausted from the night before!
that night mom came to visit!
we love having company.
Saturday we went to Cheyenne to do a little shopping.
I wanted to find madyn an Easter dress, but had no such luck.
we had a great weekend with mom!
talk about a wonderful spring break!!!!
